This coffee/ donut shop is located in Chinatown. Again, I came here to try out their donuts because of the raving reviews posted all over instagram. My first impression of the store was relaxing and warm when I entered the store. The staff was also very friendly. I asked the front staff what was there best seller donut here, and she replied, "Our Tiramisu, Matcha, and Strawberry and cream are our best sellers here." I suppose my question was a big cue to her that this was my first visit, so she went on and introduced each flavour to me.

I chose the best seller Tiramisu and matcha because of a review I read online. I didn't choose the strawberry with cream because it's pretty easy to imagine what it would taste like, since it's just fresh cream with fresh strawberries.

Well, let me tell you that this hype did NOT disappoint. The donuts are a Brioche donut that's filled with a generous heap of flavoured whipped cream, and dusted with caster sugar all over the surface. The tiramisu flavour is filled with a coffee flavour cream which was infused with intense coffee liquor. I don't personally drink coffee but find this a great introductory for a coffee beginner. It paired well with the Brioche donut, because the coffee flavour did not overpower the taste of the donut. I was able to savour the rich butter from the bread. The texture of the donut was pillowy and fluffy. It sort of reminded me of a cross over of a Chinese sugar Egg Puffs (Sai Yong) and a Brioche.

The matcha flavour was so strong that it overpowered the Brioche flavour. But hey, as a matcha addict, I'm definitely not complaining here! I really enjoyed the level of matcha intensity and am so pleased with it. Most restaurants cheap out on the matcha powder and give out weak matcha products.

My friend and I came to this newly opened brunch place at Coal Harbour. The pictures looked too good to not join the hype. The restaurant is gigantic so there was no wait for us, but again, we came here on a weekday in the morning.

The presentation was beautiful, just as shown in most pictures online (which was what attracted us here in the first place), but frankly we were pretty disappointed with the food. Their famous Cinnamon french toast was burnt, and the egg benedicts were not that remarkable... I'm not gonna elaborate on the French Toast; it just tasted like burnt cinnamon toast. The egg benedict was served with semolina Toast, which tasted like corn bread and was sort of spongy. I personally didn't like the texture and prefer muffins or biscuits with it. We asked for gravlax salmon instead of pulled pork, which tasted like any standard smoked salmon. The kale that came with it was very greasy.

The ambiance was great but the whole sitting I was quite disturbed by the smell of the deep fried oil lingering from their opened kitchen in the restaurant.
